You will find marks impressed in the metal on top of the nose bridge to indicate the type of frame; for example, B&L 1/10 12k GF is typically used for the 12k gold filled frame which basically means that 1/10 of the metal in the frame is 12k gold - which of course is all on the exterior plating.

 

Ray-Ban Kalichrome sunglasses were also produced in traditional aviator styles with regular paddle ear stems, and with and without "The General" brow bar also found on the Kalichrome bullet hole shooters.
