Vintage Persol 69218 Ratti sunglasses c 1985 have been worn by actors Jack Nicholson, Don Johnson in the TV series Miami Vice, and author and actress Jacki Collins. These Persol Ratti 69218 sunglasses were produced in Persol's Ratti manufactury reserved for their highest quality production and features the Meflecto system unique to vintage Persol sunglasses. The Persol Meflecto system system consists of 2 tiny cylinders inserted by a craftsman process into the ear stems to render them flexible, thereby assuring maximum comfort and snugness of fit. Persol marketing literature from the period notes that the Meflecto system offers "excellent functionality and perfect fitting to the wearer's face" along with a "smart design and exceptional solidity of construction. Persol 69218 sunglasses are renowned for the shape as well as the translucence of the yellow tortoise shell frame, and you can easily see the trademark Persol "supreme arrow" imbedded in the acetate of the tortoise ear stems. The unisex Persol Ratti 69218 frame measures approximately 5.75" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.125" x 1.675" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched with the trademark round Persol logo. The inside of one stem is marked Persol 69218 58 [] 16 while the inside of the other stem is marked 140 52 Ratti Made in Italy.
