Vuarnet Skilynx 003 Red Sunglasses
1 Vintage Vuarnet Skilynx 003 sunglasses feature an eye catching French red nylon frame designed for extreme cold conditions that won't stick to your face and iconic Vuarnet Skilynx PX-4000 double gradient mirror lenses. Vuarnet Skilynx lenses were designed to eliminate glare and reflection while enhancing contrast and depth of field; and it's known worldwide as "the essential high performance lens for in the mountains and at sea." The unisex Vuarnet 003 frame measures approximately 5.375" temple to temple, and the Vuarnet Skilynx mirrored lenses measure approximately 2.125" x 1.875" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched with the trademark Vuarnet "V on a Ski" at the top center. You'll find the Vuarnet Pouilloux PX symbol on the exterior of one ear stem and PX Vuarnet embossed on the other, and the inside of one stem is impressed Nylon along with the French crown trademark and the inside of the other stem is impressed France Depose along with the French crown trademark.

2 During the years in the mid 1980s around which Vuarnet was a major sponsor of the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, the company added the repeating star symbol of the Olympics along with the PX on a ski trademark on the exterior of one ear stem of their 003 sunglasses. Other than the addition of the star which you can see in photos 19 and 20 below, everything else in size, shape, appearance, and marks is identical. The star emblem looks great on its own and is also of interest to collectors of Olympics memorabilia, and these are also new old stock in mint, unworn condition.
