1 Vintage 003 Skilynx sunglasses feature Vuarnet Skilynx PX-4000 double gradient mirror lenses in a great slate blue nylon aviator style frame. Vuarnet Skilynx lenses are made from a
special base, ground and polished on both sides to eliminate distortion, and they provide 100% protection
against harmful ultraviolet radiation and enhance depth of field perception.
They are tempered to provide excellent scratch and impact resistance
and vacuum treated with multi-layered coatings - silver
double gradient filters on the fronts to absorb glare and anti-reflective
coatings on the backs to eliminate irritating bounce back light. The unisex Vuarnet 003 frame measures approximately 5.375" temple to temple, and the Skilynx lenses measure approximately 2.25" x 1.75" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched with the trademark Vuarnet "V on a Ski." The exterior of one ear stem is marked PX (Pouilloux) Vuarnet and the other stem marked PX, and the inside of one stem is impressed France Depose along with the crown trademark while the inside of the other stem is impressed Nylon along with the crown trademark and on some production one ear stem will be marked 003 or 4003 (Vuarnet changed their marking conventions in the late 1980s, adding a prefix to the original model # to denote the type of lens - in this case a 4 to signify PX-4000 Skilynx lenses).
