Ray-Ban 12k GF and 10k GF Caravan Sunglasses
1 Vintage Ray-Ban 12k GF 52mm Caravan sunglasses are an icon in the history of sunglasses and feature Bausch & Lomb G-15 lenses and the 12k gold filled frame wherein 1/10 of the metal in the frame is 12k gold, all on the exterior plating of course. Ray-Ban Caravan sunglasses were originally launched in 1957 and as a streamlined, geometric alternative to classic Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses, and these 12k gold filled Caravans were produced early in the production c 1960s / early 1970s before the introduction of etched lens marks. The unisex Ray-Ban 12k GF Caravan frame measures approximately 5.0" temple to temple with G-15 mineral glass lenses measuring approximately 2.0" x 1.675" at the widest points. The top of the nose bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA while the bottom of the bridge is impressed B&L 1/10 12k GF. This is a rare and early example of 12k gold filled Ray-Ban Caravans direct to you from a great Memphis, TN collection of fine vintage Ray-Bans.
