Vintage 1960s French Polka Dot Sunglasses
Vintage 1960s French polka dot sunglasses are an icon of the 1960s hippie and freedom movements, exemplifying the swinging decade of the 60s. These are typical of French sunglasses of this period by being both very well made and very stylish, and the red and green polka dots set against the off white base color really look great together. The frame measures approximately 5.0" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 1.75" x 1.25" at the widest points. Being 40 - 50 years old, off white and cream color sunglasses from this period have a tendency for the resin to yellow a bit, and with these French polka dot sunglasses it's most pronounced on the rear where it doesn't matter. There is a minor degree of age yellowing on the front frame, but it is de minimus and gets lost in the polka dots and the overall look of the glasses. The inside of one ear stem is marked France, part of the collection of a former film and TV actress and long time customer of the Vintage Sunglasses Shop.
