1 Vintage Vuarnet 006 Skilynx sunglasses evoke the style and shape of classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses but with those great Vuarnet Skilynx mirrored lenses. Vuarnet Skilynx lenses are made from a special base, ground and polished on both sides to eliminate distortion. The double gradient mirror Vuarnet Skilynx lenses also incorporate a "blue blocker" coating on the back which offers superior protection from the sun in leisure-oriented sports and adventure activities to minimize glare. Glare reduction is particularly important to ski eyewear and goggles, for harmful UV rays reflect off the snow to challenge vision, and yet traditional polarized sunglass lenses were poorly suited to depth perception and being able to see moguls on the ski slopes. The unisex French nylon 006 frame measures approximately 5.375" temple to temple and the lenses measure approximately 2.125" x 1.675" at the widest points with both laser etched with the trademark Vuarnet "V on a Ski". You'll find the early PX Vuarnet mark on the exterior of both ear stems, and the inside of one stem is marked Pouilloux impressed in the frame and 006 CE (this style can also be marked 4006 as Vuarnet picked up the 4 from the PX-4000 Skilynx lens designation to change this model number c 1993) embossed and the inside of the other stem is impressed France.
