Persol P27 Ratti Patent Aviator Sunglasses
Vintage Persol P27 Ratti sunglasses c 1988 were one of the most unique styles Persol produced during these years at Persol's famous Ratti manufacturing facility. Persol Ratti P27 sunglasses are one of their sportiest designs, featuring thick yet tapering ear stems one of which is embellished with a Persol racing inspired metal logo and a gleaming Italian tortoise shell frame. The frame combines light and dark tortoise on the stems, giving them the look of wood inlays in fine furniture. It's really quite an amazing design and construction, and the frame measures approximately 5.25" temple to temple with brown UV400 lenses measuring approximately 2.25" x 1.75" at the widest points and marked with the discreet Persol round logo in the glass. The gold band sealed in the top of the acetate frame is marked Ratti, and one ear stem is marked Persol Ratti and is also impressed P27 Patent, and the other ear stem is marked Made in Italy.
