1 Vintage B&L Ray-Ban L1648 Outdoorsman II Leathers sunglasses c early 1980s have all the top of the line features starting with a 24k gold plated Arista frame and 62mm photochromatic Bausch & Lomb 62mm Changeables lenses. B&L Ray-Ban marketed these sunglasses as the "ultimate fashion accessory - to match your gloves, wallet, or boots", understandable since the Arista frame is covered in fine English bridle leather. These Ray-Ban L1648 Outdoorsman II sunglasses also feature a leather covered General brow bar which improves the balance of the sunglasses on the face, and the Changeables photochromatic lenses are "light sensitive and fast acting for indoor and outdoor wear." The photochromatic properties of Changeables lenses are infused into the glasses, not a coating that can wear off or wear out over time. The frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple with 62mm aviator Changeables lenses measuring approximately 2.5" x 2.0" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched BL near the hinges. The top of the nose bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA and the bottom of the bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban 62 [] 14, part of the collection of a well known retired CEO of a major American corporation and customer of the Vintage Sunglasses Shop.

2 Vintage B&L Ray-Ban Outdoorsman Changeables Leathers sunglasses are identical to those pictured below but these feature slightly smaller B&L Changeables 58mm lenses. The frame is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA above the nose bridge and B&L Ray-Ban 58 [] 14 below the bridge, and the 58mm Changeables lenses measure approximately 2.25" x 1.875" at the widest points with right lens laser etched Ray-Ban and both lenses laser etched BL near the hinges.
