1 Vintage Ray-Ban W1840 Classic Metals Arista sunglasses feature 24k white gold plating on a frame that holds uniquely shaped hexagonal Bausch & Lomb RB-3 lenses. You'll note the distinctive ridging of the Arista frame along the perimeter, and the B&L RB-3 lens is a lighter green lens color than the more traditional green-gray G-15 lenses which we think looks fantastic with the silver Arista frame. The Bausch & Lomb RB-3 lenses feature "absorption balanced with the eye's sensitivity to colors for peak acuity, with 71% of visible light absorption and 100% ultraviolet protection." Ray-Ban W1840 sunglasses are a perfect unisex size at approximately 5.0" temple to temple with lenses that measure approximately 1.75" x 1.675" at the widest points. The right lens is laser etched Ray-Ban while both lenses are laser etched BL near the hinges. In addition, the rear of the nose bridge is impressed in the metal B&L Ray-Ban USA and on some production one ear pad is impressed W1840 XQAS, part of a fine collection of vintage Ray-Bans owned by a well known TV and movie industry executive and long time customer of the Vintage Sunglasses Shop.
