Vintage Ray-Ban W0699 Tortuga Explorer sunglasses with Changeables photochromatic lenses incorporate some of the most desired vintage B&L Ray-Ban design features all into one package. The Explorer frame is somewhat more elongated and stylish than vintage Caravans, and the Tortuga variation wherein golden tortoise shell coloration is applied to the Arista metal frame is quite rare to find and the perfect complement for Bausch & Lomb Changeables lenses. Ray-Ban Changeables lenses darken to 75% of their full capacity within the first minute of exposure to sunlight. Out of sunlight, they lighten half way within the first 10 minutes and about 75% within the first 90 minutes. The unisex Ray-Ban W0699 Explorer frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple, and the 62mm Changeables lenses measure approximately 2.375" x 1.875" at the widest points with right lens laser etched Ray-Ban and both lenses laser etched BL near the hinges. The top of the nose bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA, the bottom of the bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban 62 [] 14, and one ear pad is impressed W0699 YSAS. Rare
