1 Vintage Ray-Ban W2739 Orbs Rectangle sunglasses were one of the first true performance sports styles and weren't made for very long, and we think the Ray-Ban Orbs line c early to mid 1990s has some of the finest modern sunglasses designs ever produced. Vintage B&L Ray-Ban W2739 Orbs Rectangle sunglasses feature an industrial strength matte black metal frame whose most distinctive characteristic is the design of the ear stems. From the temple, note the enlarged screw hinge which holds unique horizontal ear stem with open S cut out that finally twists back to vertical where the rubberized ear pads begin. We can't think of any other brand or design that uses this technique, and a friend of ours who is an industrial engineer explained to us how complex that manufacturing process is to create the metal twists and S cut out in a pair of sunglasses. The vintage Bausch & Lomb G-15 lenses measure approximately 2.25" x 1.25" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched BL near the hinges and right lens laser etched Ray-Ban. The unisex Ray-Ban W2739 Orbs Rectangle frame measures approximately 5.375" temple to temple, and you'll find the Ray-Ban logo impressed in the metal at the distinctive front screw hinge.
