1 Vintage Maui Jim MJ-149 23 Outrigger sunglasses were part of the original Maui Jim production when their high quality frame and lenses were Made in Japan, and in the Outrigger the copper front frame and beautiful tortoise shell ear stems form a perfect complement for the top gradient mirror mineral glass Maui Jim lenses. In these early days Maui Jims resembled early vintage Revos with eye catching frame styles and real mineral glass lenses that were a far cry from today's flimsy polycarbonate Maui Jim lenses. The unisex Maui Jim MJ-149 frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.125" x 1.375" at the widest points with left lens laser etched Maui Jim. The inside of one ear stem is marked Maui MJ-149 23 Made in Japan while the inside of the other stem is marked with the US patent number. Rare.
