1 Vintage Carrera Porsche Design 5627 42 sunglasses are a low production model with very few having been made back in the mid to late 1980s when Porsche Carrera sunglasses with interchangeable lenses were all the rage. This variation of Porsche Design 5627 sunglasses features the very rare Tortuga and gold plated frame with green gradient lenses, a rare lens color and the hardest to find frame color in an already hard to find style. Most Carrera Porsche Design sunglasses with interchangeable lenses from this golden era of production used 2 individual lenses that slotted into prongs on the frame secured by the center hinge, but in the PD 5627 the lenses themselves are mounted in a metal lens frame and the lens frame itself slots into the glasses frame and is secured on the sides and by the center hinge.The unisex Carrera Porsche Design 5627 frame measures approximately 5.375" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.5" x 2.125" at the widest points.The inside of one stem is marked Frame Made in Austria 5627 42 59 [] 13 130 along with the impressed serial number while the inside of the other stem is marked Porsche Design by Carrera.
