1 Vintage Carrera Porsche Design 5657 90 sunglasses were produced in only small quantities, combining a black half frame with center hinge to support interchangeable 1 piece lenses which here features amber lenses set in a black one piece lens frame and gray-green lenses set in a gold plated frame. Most Carrera Porsche Design sunglasses with interchangeable lenses from this golden era of production used 2 individual lenses that slotted into prongs on the frame and secured by the center hinge, but in the PD 5657 the lenses themselves are mounted in a metal lens frame and the lens frame itself slots into the glasses frame and is secured on the sides and by the center hinge. The unisex Carrera Porsche Design 5657 frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.375" x 2.125" at the widest points with left lens laser etched Porsche Design along with the PD logo. The inside of one ear stem is marked Frame Made in Austria 5657 90 58 [] 15 135 along with the impressed PD serial number while the inside of the other stem is marked Porsche Design by Carrera.
