1 Vintage Ray-Ban Sharpshooter Bullet Hole "The General" sunglasses are a low production variation of bullet hole shooters that features an Arista gold plated frame and the metal extensions to the center bullet hole that signifies the unique and distinctive design of the Ray-Ban Sharpshooter. The center "bullet hole" design coupled with the "General" brow bar were originally designed by Bausch & Lomb to provide a more comfortable and balanced fit on the face - but they also makes the sunglasses look super cool! The Bausch & Lomb Changeables lenses will darken considerably out in the sunlight and even pick up moderatlely reflective properties as you can see in the photos; these photochromatic properties are infused into the glass lens and is not a coating that can wear out or wear off. The gold Arista plating has proven to stand the test of time through a patented Bausch & Lomb process wherein 24k gold was permanently bonded to the frame, and of course you also get the high quality B&L optics to complete these very high performance hunting or shooting sunglasses. The 62mm Changeables photochromatic lenses measure approximately 2.675" x 2.125" at the widest points with right lens laser etched Ray-Ban and both lenses are laser etched BL at the hinges. The Ray-Ban General Sharpshooter bullet hole frame measures approximately 5.75" temple to temple, and the ttop of the nose bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA, the bottom of the bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban 62 [] 14, and one ear stem is impressed The General while the other stem is impressed B&L 135. Very rare.
