1 Vintage B&L Ray-Ban Deep Groove gold plated sunglasses were one of the very earliest Bausch & Lomb styles introduced shortly after the wartime creation of iconic Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses, with a much stronger front frame and ear stems than the aviators. Also originally designed for the US military and thus dubbed "military aviators" or by some as the first "military Caravan" the Deep Groove was produced in both gold and silver plate and have a more angular squared off shape than the teardrop shaped aviators. The Deep Grooves were particularly popular with military officers, and they were soon adopted by the wealthy and those in th movie industry in Hollywood as one of the earliest name brand sunglasses sold to the general public, optically outstanding sunglasses with far higher quality than previous "drug store sunglasses". On this pair don't miss the distinctive double bar of the nose bridge, an extra bit of design flair! The unisex Deep Groove frame measures approximately 5.675" temple to temple, and the B&L G-15 mineral glass lenses measure approximately 2.375" x 2.0" at the widest points.
