1 Vintage Carrera Porsche Design sunglasses were part of arguably the world's largest and finest collection of iconic Porsche Design interchangeable lens sunglasses from the 1980s worn by so many celebrities and sports figures during the era. The gleaming gold plated 5623 frame is a great color complement for the rare rose gradient and gray-green lenses, one of the hardest to find frame and lens combos among vintage Carreras. The Carrera Porsche Design frame has a center hinge that raises to allow the interchangeable lenses to be swapped out and inserted into prongs on the frame. Then, the hinge clamps down to hold the lenses in place. This was a real innovation in sunglasses design giving you two very distinct looks in a single pair of sunglasses which along with the use of advanced lightweight optyl lenses enabled the oversized look that would have been prohibitively heavy in glass. The unisex Porsche Carrera 5623 frame measures approximately 5.675" temple to temple with interchangeable lenses measuring approximately 2.75" x 2.375" at the widest points with both left lenses laser etched Porsche Design. The inside of one ear stem is marked Porsche Design by Carrera along with the US patent number while the inside of the other stem is marked with the unique serial number along with Made in Austria 5623 36 130.
