Vintage Oakley Juliet Ichiro 51 sunglasses feature the revolutionary Oakley Polished X Metal frame combined with great Oakley Emerald Iridium lenses, an icon of 20th century sunglass design and the choice of athletes and celebrities around the world since their introduction in the 1990s. In fact this is the very rare Ichiro 51 model of which they produced only around 1000 original limited edition pairs branded for the Japanese baseball icon Ichiro Suzuki who played professionally for 28 seasons. In 2001, Suzuki became the first Japanese-born player in MLB and received 17 consecutive selections both as an All-Star and Gold Glove winner, won 9 league batting titles, and was named MVP 4 times. Menacing yet stylish, the Oakley Juliet has a subtle wrap design that contours closely to the face to improve eye and glare protection, and the revolutionary X Metal is an ultra-lightweight titanium alloy resulting in an entirely new frame design. Oakley’s fully adaptable architecture uses compressible couplers at the nose bridge to achieve flexibility, making these lines the first 3-D sculptured all-metal frames on earth. The unisex Oakley Juliet Polished frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple, and the Oakley Emerald Iridium lenses measure approximately 2.125" x 1.25" at the widest points with left lens laser etched with the Ichiro signature and his number 51. You'll find the O logo integrated into the design on the exterior of both ear stems, and one ear pad is marked Made in USA and the other pad is marked CE.
