1 Vintage Oliver Peoples EJ1 sunglasses were the original 1994 release of the historic collaboration between Oliver Peoples and Elton John to raise money for the Elton John Aids Foundation and decorated with custom Aids Ribbon filigree as seen in the photos. Oliver Peoples collaborated in the 1990s with Sir Elton John to design a series of frames for Elton's foundation, this was the very first. Aside from being the original EJ1, these also have the highly sought after Fight Club blood red lenses to round out the style statement and as often seen on Elton John himself. Elton John has long been associated with his extravagant glasses, and in regard to this collection said "Eyewear has been something of a trademark of mine over the past fifty years of my career, and I've collected Oliver Peoples since the early days of the company starting up." The unisex Oliver Peoples EJ1 frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple, and the rounded rectangle blood red lenses measure approximately 2.0" x 1.125" at the widest points. You'll find the logo embossed on the exterior of both ear stems, and the inside of one stem is impressed Oliver Peoples with the OP design logo. The sunglasses include the original card that accompanied the original purchase of these icons with Elton John's signature by Oliver Peoples. Very rare.
