Revo 953 Purple Mirror Sunglasses
Vintage Revo 953 Combo Round sunglasses are the very earliest prototype incarnation of iconic Revo 953 sunglasses, here with a tortoise shell frame coupled with intricately etched gunmetal silver ear stems and nose bridge along with highly reflective Revo purple mirror lenses. One way you can tell these are the earliest version of the 953 can be seen in how the Revo logo is embossed on the ear stem and the etched gunmetal pattern is slightly different and glossier versus the matte finish in future production. Revo didn't produce many purple mirror lenses during their golden age, and by the time they formally introduced the 953 line the true purple mirror lenses (versus purple tint) were only made with the matte black front frame and even then in very small quantities. The unisex Revo 953 Combo Round sunglasses frame measures approximately 5.25" temple to temple, and the purple mirror mineral glass lenses measure approximately 1.75" x 1.75" at the widest points. You'll find the Revo logo in open letters embossed on the exterior of both intricately etched ear stems while the inside of one ear stem is marked Frame Japan, part of the collection of a well known sports figure and long time customer of the Vintage Sunglasses Shop. Very rare.
