Vintage Vuarnet 002 Skilynx sunglasses are an icon of 20th century sunglasses design, produced in a wide variety of frame and lens combinations and here with PX-2000 mineral glass lenses. More on those later. But these Vuarnet 002 sunglasses have 2 rarities associated with them - the hunter green color produced in only very small quantities and the fact that these were produced c 1982-1984 to commemorate Vuarnet's sponsorship of the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics. Vuarnet PX-2000 lenses are a brown base mineral glass lens with an advanced anti-reflective interior coating that provides subtle enhancement of color and contrast, ideal for everyday use and driving. The unisex Vuarnet 002 frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple, and the PX-2000 mineral glass lenses measure approximately 2.125" x 1.75" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched with the trademark Vuarnet "V on a Ski". You'll find the Vuarnet PX (Pouilloux) logo impressed on the exterior of one ear stem along with the repeating star symbol of the 1984 Los Angeles Olmpic Games and an impressed PX and printed Vuarnet embossed on the other stem. The inside of one stem is impressed France along with the French crown trademark. Rare.
