Vintage Carrera Porsche Design 5621A 27 sunglasses are the slightly smaller and harder to find size of vintage Carrera Porsche Design sunglasses, produced in far fewer numbers and denoted by the A after the 5621 model number. Not that they're small by any means, but these are highly desired by people with smaller face sizes for whom the look is still stylishly oversized. But here the real stars of the show are the set of very rare Porsche Design top gradient mirror lenses, highly reflective and really stunning set in the Austrian gold plated Porsche Carrera frame as are the second set of included gray PD lenses.. The interchangeable lenses are swapped out by lifting the center hinge and removing and inserting the lenses into small prongs on the frame, and the second set of lenses are stored in a felt pouch inside the included Carrera hard case. These original Porsche Design lenses were made of a revolutionary plastic called optyl, which gave them unparalleled optical excellence in a lightweight lens, an innovation which permitted these larger styles which wuold be too heavy for most people in glass lenses. The unisex Carrera Porsche Design 5621A frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.75" x 2.125" at the widest points with right lenses laser etched Porsche Design along with the PD logo. The inside of one ear stem is marked Made in Austroa 5621A 22 67 [] 15 135 along with the unique impressed serial number while the inside of the other stem is marked Porsche Design by Carrera along with the US patent number.
