1 Vintage Persol 3009-S Roadster sunglasses are one ot the most finely crafted Persol frames ever created, and we know that's saying quite a lot. Aside from the open bridge aviator style reminiscent of vintage Vuarnet 003 sunglasses, you can't mistake the special quality features of Persol's handmade line like the 3009 including silver top accent bar with screws and rivets, inner chrome lining at the open nose bridge, carved ridges on the inside of the ear pads, and the 3 curved cylinder Persol Meflecto system in both ear stems. The Persol Meflecto system system consists of 2 tiny cylinders inserted by a craftsman process into the ear stems to render them flexible, thereby assuring maximum comfort and snugness of fit. Persol marketing literature from the period notes that the Meflecto system offers "excellent functionality and perfect fitting to the wearer's face" along with a "smart design and exceptional solidity of construction. The unisex Persol 3009 Havana tortoise shell frame measures approximately 5.675" temple to temple, and the photochromatic lenses will darken in the sunlight and measure approximately 2.375" x 1.675" at the widest points with right lens laser etched Persol P to indicate Persol's advanced polarized lens. You'll find the Persol arrow point hinges on the exterior of both ear stems, and the inside of one stem is marked Persol Hand Made in Italy L CE Polarized Photo Ch while the inside of the other stem is marked 3009-S 24/4P 58 [] 15 145 3P and both ear pads have the Persol logo inset in gold..
