1 Vintage Persol Ratti 002 A sunglasses are one of the most distinctive of all vintage Persol styles, featuring glass side shields on each side that give you unparalleled eye protection from the sides and the Persol Meflecto system for unprecedented flexibility and fit. Each ear stem has 2 metal cylinders inserted to provide flex and a perfect fit, the trademark technology of the Persol Meflecto system dating to 1938. The Persol 002A black ebony Italian frame is slightly smaller than the full size 002 but identically shaped with the glass side shields of the 002 style. The unisex Persol 002A frame measures approximately 5.25" temple to temple, and the Persol green mineral glass lenses measure approximately 2.0" x 1.375" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched with the round Persol trademark. The inside of one stem is marked Persol Meflecto Ratti and one ear pad is impressed 002A, direct from a defunct Beverly Hills, CA optical shop from the 1980s.
