Vintage French cat eye sunglasses feature elaborately decorated temples in a white and black contrast, an Art Deco style pattern that extends on down the top of both ear stems. This is a period French cat eye frame style that was one of the most sought after when first introduced in the 1950s and they remain enduringly popular today given their intricate, precise design. The French frame measures approximately 5.25" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 1.875" x 1.25" at the widest points. The inside of one ear stem is impressed France, sent to us from a well known socialite's New York City Park Avenue apartment and part of her sunglasses collection amassed over 70 years.
