Bolle 378 Acrylex Gold Mirror Sunglasses
Vintage Bolle 378 sunglasses feature a black ebony nylon aviator frame, but the real stars of the show are the highly reflective Bolle Acrylex gold mirror lenses. The early Bolle Acrylex lenses were made of a virtually shatterproof and scratch resistant polycarbonate that made them lightweight and optically high performance. Bolle mirrored lenses from this vintage c mid to late 1980s were every bit as good as better known Vuarnet Skilynx lenses, and Bolle and Vuarnet shared production during this period as well so Bolle frames and lenses often came from the same factories that were making Vuarnet sunglasses. The unisex Bolle 378 frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple, and the gold mirror lenses measure approximately 2.375" x 2.0" at the widest points with left lens laser etched bolle Acrylex. You'll find the Bolle Acrylex logo embossed on the exterior of one ear stem, and the inside of one stem impressed France along with the French crown trademark and on some production marked 378. Rare.
