1 Vintage Vuarnet 006 sunglasses commemorate the iconic 1995 Americas Cup and feature a shape that's reminiscent of vintage Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses, and in addition to the distinctive styling of the durable black nylon frame you also get high performance Vuarnet PX-2000 lenses in this low production variation of the 006. Vuarnet PX2000 lenses are a brown base mineral glass lens with an advanced anti-reflective interior coating that provides subtle enhancement of color and contrast, ideal for everyday use and driving. The 1995 America's Cup was one of the most famous yacht races of all time, with world famous captain Dennis Conner and the yacht Young America racing Team New Zealand's yacht Black Magic which incorporated some never before seen technology advancements to win five races straight to take the cup away from the US for only the second time in 144 years. The unisex Vuarnet 006 frame measures approximately 5.675" temple to temple, and the Vuarnet PX-2000 lenses measure approximately 2.125" x 1.675" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched with the trademark Vuarnet "V on a Ski" at the top center of both lenses. You'll find the PX Vuarnet logo embossed on the exterior of one ear stem and PX trademark embossed on the other, and the inside of one stem is marked 006 and impressed France while the inside of the other stem is impressed Pouilloux.
