Vintage Carrera Porsche Design 5681 41 sunglasses feature a low profile and eye catching gold and silver frame along with rare oval Porsche Design purple gradient lenses. Vintage Porsche Carrera sunglasses from this period were known for their distinctive designs that incorporated high quality yet lightweight optics via their use of optyl lenses, an advanced polycarbonate that offered a degree of optical precision not previously attainable except through the use of much heavier glass lenses. The unisex Carrera 5681 frame measures approximately 5.25" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.125" x 1.375" at the widest points with the left lens laser etched Porsche Design along with the trademark PD logo. The inside of one stem is marked Porsche Design by Carrera while the inside of the other stem is marked Made in Austria 5681 41 53 [] 16 135 along with the unique impressed serial number. Rare.
