1 Vintage Ray-Ban Stateside sunglasses are one of the most recognizable styles ever produced by Bausch & Lomb during their 60 years of stewardship of the Ray-Ban brand, and this rare combination of tortoise shell Stateside frame and B&L double gradient mirror lenses was the most exclusive frame and lens combination in the line. The highly reflective G-31 mirrored lens was offered for sale on only a very small number of styles, an expensive lens to manufacture whose origin dates to the days of the Ray-Ban Deep Freeze in the 1950s when Bausch & Lomb supplied eyewear for the first research expedition in Antarctica at what was known as Little America. The unisex Ray-Ban Stateside frame measures approximately 5.675" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.25" x 1.75" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched BL. The inside of one ear stem is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA while the inside of the other stem is impressed Stateside, part of the collection of a well known movie and TV industry figure and long time customer of the Vintage Sunglasses Shop.
