Vuarnet 003 Skilynx Brown Fade Sunglasses
Vintage Vuarnet 003 Skilynx sunglasses feature the hard to find 2 tone brown fade nylon frame combined with the amazing Vuarnet Skilynx double gradient mirrored lenses for a unique statement in vintage sunglasses. Vuarnet PX-4000 Skilynx lenses are gradient mirror lenses which reflect rather than absorb glare. Glare reduction is particularly important to ski eyewear and goggles, for harmful UV rays reflect off the snow to challenge vision, and yet traditional polarized sunglass lenses were poorly suited to depth perception and being able to see moguls on the ski slopes. Vuarnet Skilynx lenses meet the challenge and more - they also look great! The unisex Vuarnet 003 frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple, and the Skilynx mineral glass lenses measure approximately 2.25" x 1.75" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched with the trademark V on a Ski at the top center. The exterior of one ear stem is marked PX Vuarnet while the other is marked PX (Pouilloux), and the inside of one stem is impressed France Depose along with the French crown trademark while the inside of the other stem is marked 003 (in the mid 1990s Vuarnet changed this mark to 4003 with the 4 prefix indicating PX-4000 Skilynx lenses but they are identical in all ways) and impressed Nylon along with the crown trademark. Vuarnet 003 sunglasses are an icon of modern sunglasses design, part of a fine collection of vintage Vuarnet sunglasses owned by a well known European sports figure and customer of the Vintage Sunglasses Shop.
