1 Vintage Persol 806 folding sunglasses c 1980s are an engineering marvel, folding up to a size not much larger than a single lens while also incorporating the patented Persol Meflecto system of pins inset into the ear stems to provide unprecedented flex and comfort. Multiple hinges at the nose bridge and the center point of the ear stems allow the glasses to fold up, and if you're like us this will be a great convenience if you run errands and go in and out of the sunlight a lot and need to stash your sunglasses in a pocket. Persol 806 sunglasses are one of the most popular Persol designs of all time, essentially a folding variation of iconic Persol 649 sunglasses. The unisex Persol Ratti 806 frame measures approximately 5.675" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.0" x 1.75" at the widest points. You'll find the logo embossed on the exterior of both ear stems, and the inside of one stem is marked 137 96 Ratti Made in Italy while the inside of the other stem is marked Persol 806 52F. Rare.

2 Identical in size, shape, and appearance, these folding Persol Ratti 806 sunglasses were made c 1970s when Persol's marking conventions were slightly different. The inside of one ear stem is marked Persol Meflecto Ratti while the inside of the other stem is marked Made in Italy and one ear pad is impressed 806/52F. Other than the marking conventions, there are no other differences.
