The Meflecto system involves inserting two to four small cylinders into the acetate arm to give it flexibility, a craft manufacturing process exclusive to Persol sunglasses, and you can see the 4 Meflecto inserts as vertical bands in the ear stems of these rare Persol Ratti 649 4E sunglasses. You may also recognize Persol 649 sunglasses as the sunglasses of choice for actors Marcello Mastroianni, Steve McQueen, and Don Johnson in the Miami Vice television series. . The unisex Persol 649 frame measures approximately 5.675" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.25" x 1.75" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched with the round Persol trademark. You'll find the distinctive Persol silver arrow point hinges on the exterior of both ear stems, and the inside of one stem is marked Persol Meflecto Ratti 649 4E Brevettato.
