1 Vintage Ray-Ban 64mm aviator sunglasses feature the rare black chrome variation in this equally rare 64mm size of the iconic Ray-Ban aviator, mostly produced only as a special order when introduced and thus very difficult to find today. The Ray-Ban aviator is truly an icon of modern design, and the black chrome frame is a permanent finish bonded to the metal which was a technique pioneered by B&L Ray-Ban during this period - and you'll see 20 good gold plated aviators for every one good black chrome. The unisex Ray-Ban 64mm aviator frame measures approximately 5.875" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.5" x 2.125" at the widest points with right lens laser etched Ray-Ban and both lenses laser etched BL near the hinges. The top of the nose bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA while the bottom of the bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban 64 [] 14, worn and cherished by a top commercial airplane pilot and long time customer of the Vintage Sunglasses Shop. Hard to find in the 64mm size.
