1 Vintage Ray-Ban W0979 Classic Collection Style 2 sunglasses feature a beautiful gold plated Arista frame with its distinctive pinpoint etching, but what will really leap out at you with the W0979 is the unique lens shape that is more rounded at the bottom than similar hexagonal shaped lenses that Ray-Ban was producing during this same period. Of course you also get the super look of the early light green RB-3 lenses which feature absorption balanced with the eye's sensitivity to colors for peak acuity, with 71% visible light absorption and 100% UV protection. The unisex Ray-Ban W0979 frame measures approximately 4.875" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 1.875" x 1.675" at the widest points with right lens laser etched Ray-Ban and both lenses laser etched BL near the hinges. The rear of the nose bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA in the gold plating, and on some production one ear pad is impressed W0979 NWAS.
