Vuarnet 8002 Nautilux Slate Blue Sunglasses
Vintage Vuarnet 002 sunglasses feature the hard to find slate blue variation combined with top of the line Nautilux lenses, an icon of modern sunglasses design c 1980s, with a size and shape that's made them enduringly popular with both men and women for over 30 years. The Vuarnet Nautilux lens is a yellow base lens with brown and anti-reflective interior coatings and eye catching double gradient blue exterior filters. Nautilux is a very technical, all weather lens developed to protect against the strong reflection of the sea and against the tiring glaze of hazy conditions, especially effective for water sports. The unisex Vuarnet 8002 frame measures approximately 5.375" temple to temple, and the Vuarnet Nautilux lenses measure approximately 2.125" x 1.75" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched with the trademark Vuarnet "V on a Ski". You'll find the Vuarnet PX logo embossed on the exterior of one ear stem and PX Nautilux on the other, and the inside of one stem is impressed France along with the French crown trademark and marked Vuarnet while the inside of the other stem is impressed Pouilloux and marked either 002 or 8002 (Vuarnet began using prefixes c 1993 to indicate the type of lens, in this case an 8 for the PX8000 Nautilux lens).
