Vuarnet 006 Skilynx Hunter Green Olympics Sunglasses
Vintage Vuarnet Skilynx 006 sunglasses are a great Vuarnet interpretation of classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses, with a rare hunter green Wayfarer style frame but coupled with superb Vuarnet PX4000 Skilynx double gradient mirror lenses. This dark green version of the Vuarnet 006 Skilynx was produced in conjunction with Vuarnet's sponsorship of the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, and the Olympic star logo from these games is both fashionable and valuable as an Olympic collectible. Vuarnet Skilynx lenses are an amber-yellow mineral glass base lens with anti-reflective interior coatings and double gradient silver mirror exterior filters. The legendary Vuarnet lens eliminates glare and reflection while enhancing contrast and depth of field, and it's known worldwide as the essential lens for in the mountains and at sea. The unisex Vuarnet 006 frame measures approximately 5.375" temple to temple, and the PX-4000 Skilynx lenses measure approximately 2.25" x 1.5" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched with the trademark Vuarnet "V on a Ski" at the top center of the lenses. You'll find the repeating star logo of the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles along with PX embossed on the exterior of one ear stem and the Olympic rings along with Vuarnet embossed on the other, and the inside of one stem is impressed France along with the French crown trademark.
