Vuarnet 085 Skilynx Red Sunglasses
1 Vintage Vuarnet 085 Skilynx sunglasses feature an eye catching red nylon frame with the distinctive open V at the center of the nose bridge and the highly reflective Vuarnet Skilynx double gradient mirror lenses. The most notable design feature of the Vuarnet 085 frame is the open cut V at the center of the nose bridge, a really cool look and unique to vintage Vuarnet sunglasses of this era. Vuarnet PX-4000 Skilynx lenses are an amber-yellow mineral glass lens with anti-reflective interior coatings and double gradient silver exterior filters that gives them the double gradient mirror finish. Skilynx lenses eliminate glare and reflection, enhance contrast and depth of field, and have been recognized for 30 years as the essential high performance lens for the mountains and at sea. The unisex French red nylon frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple, and the PX4000 Skilynx lenses measure approximately 2.25" x 1.875" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched with the trademark Vuarnet V on a Ski at the top center. You'll find the Vuarnet Px on a ski logo embossed on the exterior of one ear stem and PX Vuarnet on the other, and on some production the inside of one stem is marked 085 along with an impressed France and the French crown trademark while the inside of the other stem is impressed Pouilloux.

2 A small number of Vuarnet 085 Skilynx sunglasses were produced in the red 085 frame with PX-2000 branding in the early 1990s. They are identical in size, shape, marks, and appearance with the exception of an embossed PX-2000 on one ear stem and marked 2002 on the inside of one ear stem. See photos 18, 19, and 20 below.
