Carrera Porsche Design 5621 71 Titanium Silver Blue Gradient Sunglasses
Vintage Carrera Porsche Design 5621 71 sunglasses feature the hard to find titanium silver frame, but the real stars of the show are the very rare Porsche Design blue gradient lenses which you get along with a second set of brown gradient or gray lenses. Blue gradient is a very hard Porsche Carrera lens color to find and looks terrific with this titanium silver frame from the golden years of the 1980s, and with the second set of interchangeable lenses you get two completely different looks in one pair of sunglasses. The center hinge raises and lowers to secure the lenses into prongs on the frame, and the included hard sided Carrera case has an inner felt pouch in which to store the second set of lenses. Carrera Porsche Design lenses were made of a revolutionary material called optyl which allowed large sizes not practical with glass lenses but retaining the superior optical properties. The unisex Carrera 5621 silver frame measures approximately 5.675" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.875" x 2.25" at the widest points with left lens laser etched Porsche Design along with the PD logo. The inside of one ear stem is impressed with the unique serial number and marked Made in Austria 5621 71 while the inside of the other stem is marked Carrera Porsche Design along with the impressed US patent number on some production.
