American Optical Ful Vue Blue Lens Sunglasses
Vintage American Optical Ful Vue sunglasses are one of the rarest styles in antique sunglasses and goggles, featuring the HC3 safety lens wherein the upper half of the lens is the super cool blue and the lower half is clear. This allows you to see the world blue when looking out and up but having clear, unfiltered vision when looking down. This early style of AO Ful Vue started life as safety goggles used in welding and other tasks wherein fire, heat, and glare threatened damage to one's eyes. Don't miss the subtle design features like the intricate etching that decorates both temples and nose bridge, and you'll like the secure fit of the shooter ear stems. The unisex Americna Optical Ful Vue frame measures approximately 5.0" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 1.875" x 1.75" at the widest points with the blue portions of both lens laser etched C3 and the clear portions laser etched H near the hinges. Behind the rear of the nose bridge, one side is impressed AO 23 and the other side is impressed Ful Vue, a rare relic from early American Optical production Ful Vue frames in a can't miss lens!
