Vintage Ray-Ban L1582 Wayfarer Woodies Driftwood sunglasses feature Bausch & Lomb B-15 anti-glare lenses, the brown mineral glass lens being a perfect complement for the faux wood of these rare B&L Ray-Ban Woodies sunglasses. The realism of Ray-Ban Woodies captured the attention of the market when first introduced in the 1980s and still endures today, a real icon of modern sunglasses design. Always very expensive, the costly manufacturing process made eventually production of Wayfarer Woodies prohibitive for Bausch & Lomb so consequently they were produced in only very small quantities. Take note - modern Ray-Ban reproductions of Wayfarer Woodies made by Luxottica don't come close to the quality or lasting value of these original Bausch & Lomb models. The unisex Wayfarer Woodies frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple, and the B-15 lenses measure approximately 1.875" x 1.5" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched BL near the hinges. The inside of one stem is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA while the inside of the other stem is impressed Wayfarer and B&L 5022 is impressed above the rear of the right lens. Very rare.
