Vuarnet 430 Skilynx White Olympics Glacier Glasses
Vintage Vuarnet 430 Skilynx glacier glasses were produced c early 1980s to commemorate Vuarnet's sponsorship of the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and feature the rare white nylon Vuarnet glacier glasses frame and top of the line teardrop shaped Vuarnet Skilynx PX-4000 high performance lenses. The Vuarnet 430 white nylon frame with white leather side blinkers and nose guard - designed to keep the frame from sticking to the skin even in extreme cold conditions - are a really distinctive color combination coupled with the Skilynx double gradient mirror lenses. Vuarnet Skilynx lenses are an amber-yellow base glass lens with anti-reflective interior coatings and double gradient mirror silver exterior filters. This legendary Vuarnet lens eliminates glare and reflection, enhances contrast and depth of field, and is recognized as the essential lens for in the mountains and at sea. The unisex Vuarnet 430 frame measures approximately 5.675" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.25" x 1.875" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched with the trademark Vuarnet "V on a Ski" at the top center. You'll find the Vuarnet PX (Pouilloux) logo embossed on the exterior of one ear stem and PX along with the repeating star symbol of the 1984 Summer Olympics, and the inside of one stem is impressed France along with the crown trademark.
