Ray-Ban Wings Rose Double Gradient Mirror Sunglasses
Vintage Ray-Ban Wings sunglasses feature a gold plated Deep Groove frame, much stronger than standard ear stems, with "the General" brow bar to improve the balance of the sunglasses on the face. All that's great, but the star of the show are these rare Bausch & Lomb Wings rose double gradient mirror lenses. B&L Ray-Ban Wings lenses were the first one piece polycarbonate lens that gave you a lightweight, optically outstanding lens that could have a surface area providing true 180 degree glare protected vision. There's a gradient to the rose mirror finish, clearer at the bottom to allow easy reading of instrument panels by pilots or motorists. Both ear stems are impressed B&L 140 on the enterior and etched Ray-Ban on the exterior, and these are the thicker Deep Groove gold plated stems that give this variation of Wings sunglasses greater than normal strength. The unisex Bausch & Lomb Ray-Ban Wings frame measures approximately 6.0" temple to temple, and the rear of the nose bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA in the gold plating. Rare.
