Ray-Ban Leathers Changeables Photochromatic Sunglasses
Early vintage Ray-Ban Leathers sunglasses not only feature the most desirable black leather wrap but also hard to find B&L Changeables photochromatic lenses that we think are the perfect complement to Ray-Ban Leathers sunglasses. There is just enough of the gold plated frame exposed on the nose bridge, hinges, and ear stems to give these some sparkle to go along with the elegance of the English bridle leather. These are also a perfect unisex size, with frame measuring approximately 5.25" temple to temple and teardrop aviator lens measuring approximately 2.25" x 1.875" at the widest points. The leather wraps both lenses, and we really like the leather wrapped ear pads with the lighter stitching on this fine example of 58mm Leathers. The Bausch & Lomb Changeables lenses which shade from a tinted brown in indirect sunlight but darken considerably out in the sun. The right lens is etched Ray-Ban and both lenses are laser etched BL near the hinges, and the frame is marked B&L 58 [] 14 USA under the gold plated nose bridge impressed in the gold plating. Over the years, we've seen several celebrities sporting Ray-Ban Changeables Leathers, and this early example c early 1980s comes direct from a collection in Chicago, IL.
