Vintage Ray-Ban W1273 Wayfarer Max sunglasses feature the hard to find tortoise shell and gold W1273 frame coupled with Bausch & Lomb G-15 lenses, an icon of modern sunglasses design. B&L introduced the Wayfarer Max c 1980s to extend and complement the Wayfarer line, and it quickly became so popular that the Wayfarer Max rivaled the traditional Wayfarer as the yearly sales champion of the Ray-Ban line. The unisex Ray-Ban W1273 Wayfarer Max frame measures approximately 5.675" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.0" x 1.75" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched BL near the hinges. You'll find the Ray-Ban logo in raised metal relief on the exterior of both ear stems, and the inside of one stem is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA while the inside of the other stem is impressed Wayfarer Max. On some production of this model c 1990s one ear stem is impressed W1273 VSAS while others pre-date Bausch & Lomb's introduction of impressed model numbers, but all are identical in size, shape, and appearance.
