Vuarnet 019 PX-6000 Unilynx Sunglasses
1 Vintage Vuarnet 019 sunglasses feature an intricately etched and uniquely shaped matte silver gunmetal frame that forms a perfect and eye catching complement for the high performance Vuarnet PX-6000 Unilynx mineral glass lenses. Vuarnet PX-6000 Unilynx lenses are an amber brown mineral glass base lens with anti-reflective interior coating, a hybrid lens with similar characteristics of the Skilynx but without the exterior silver filters and is a serious lens for all-around outdoor use. Note the grooves and the distinctive thickness of the frame surrounding the lenses and the unique arrow point hinge design of the ear stems used exclusively for the Vuarnet 019. Roger Pouilloux and Jean Vuarnet created the first Vuarnet sunglasses in 1961, with optical quality lenses that offered unprecedented sun protection for leisure-oriented sports and adventure activities such as skiing. You'll find the Vuarnet PX logo impressed on the exterior of one ear stem and PX Vuarnet impressed on the other, and the inside of one ear stem is marked Pouilloux France CE and the other is marked 019 48 [] 22 140. The unisex Vuarnet 019 frame measures approximately 5.25" temple to temple while the PX-6000 Unilynx lenses measure approximately 1.875" to 1.375" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched with the Vuarnet "V on a Ski", part of the collection of a well known film executive and long time customer of the Vintage Sunglasses Shop.
